The IT team designs, develops and maintains a number of highly-available, low-latency quoting and trading systems, using cutting-edge computing software and hardware.

Our IT Infrastructure team is looking for a highly motivated team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills. In this role, the System Administrator will be responsible for the day to day operations of our IT systems and services. The hired candidate will support and improve tools and processes to provide 99.99% uptime in a 24x7 environment.
Provide first level response and proactive support for operational functions including, but not limited to:
Client-facing Application Support
Performance Monitoring of key infrastructure components
Server and Operating System installations, upgrades and patch management
Work closely with developers, product managers and infrastructure teams on the identification and implementation of improvements to operational procedures, including change preparation, execution and validation.
Interact with customers and vendors to troubleshoot existing network or system problems.
Document existing infrastructure whenever beneficial to the support function.
Communicate and implement system and network changes ensuring stability of the environment as well as compliance with industry best practices.
BS degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent certifications
Previous experience with UNIX or Linux System Administration, preferably in a highly available, distributed environment utilizing Sun Solaris and/or Linux platforms
Superior written and verbal communications
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with application development teams and support personnel
Exposure to several of the following technologies is a plus: DNS, LDAP, SNMP, VPN, SSL/SSH, FIX Protocol, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, EMC Storage, Cisco hardware (switches, routers, firewalls), F5 Load Balancers
