OTC Markets Group Inc., operator of premier US financial marketplaces, is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join our Application Support Team. 

Please note OTC Markets is currently operating in a hybrid work environment (three days in office, two days remotely).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Proactive and reactive ready-for-business checks
  • Proactive and reactive real-time monitoring of processes, connections & flows
  • Notifying the business unit of system issues or failures in a timely manner
  • Liaise with external parties to resolve issues
  • Thorough understanding of our applications and business flows and serve as SME on those matters
  • Act as an escalation point for frontline
  • System break/fix and user recovery
  • Investigating and resolving data quality issues
  • Investigation of user queries. E.g., flow breaks, data issues, data slowness. Liaison with IT Infra, App Dev, and business where appropriate
  • Escalating problems to level 3 (app development and engineering) groups
  • Documenting recovery procedures
  • Documenting client requirements and feedback
  • Providing operational enhancement
  • Building out new third-party connectivity, files, and reports
  • Interacting with counterparties and clients as the point person on file-related production issues and escalating to Management or other internal departments when necessary
  • Ensuring that all third-party communications/files are documented and tracked
  • Product implementation and the design of new workflows
  • Providing weekly updates on production issues, contacting clients to report or follow up on production issues, and monitoring overall trading products infrastructure
  • Monitor application performance and logs
  • Help identify methods to improve resiliency

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong Scripting skills  (bash, Perl, Python, Powershell)
  • Basic Unix/Linux administration
  • Experience with basic networking
  • Proficient in Windows Enterprise Administration/basic troubleshooting 
  • An ideal candidate would have 3+ years prior exposure to providing clients with technical support, troubleshooting and/or application support. We may also consider individuals who have experience in Client Trade Operations within a Financial Service firm.
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • vi or emacs editor skills. UNIX/Linux
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree is highly preferred; a CS degree will be a huge plus.
  • We are seeking candidates with a thorough understanding of the trading lifecycle. Our suite of products requires extensive knowledge of financial industry terminology and an understanding of the underlying finance workflows

Salary offered: $120,000 to $135,000, depending on experience
